CAIM Leadership

Ernest is the founder and executive director of Children Alive Ministries. He came to Mukono is 2008 to pursue his bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Children’s Ministry at Uganda Christian University. While there, he learned about the communities of Bugujju, Kauga, Kubiri and Namubiru and the challenges that children growing up there face from day to day. He was also serving as a Sunday school teacher in one boarding school on Sunday mornings. With the support and encouragement of Mr. Kenneth Mugayehwenkyi along with a burden to reach out to children and youth in Mukono with the gospel truth of Jesus, Ernest together with Elizabeth Gimadu began Children Alive Ministries in 2011.

Elizabeth Gimadu

Elizabeth is the development and fundraising manager of Children Alive Ministries (CAlM). While studying her bachelor’s in Child development and Children’s Ministry, she joined Sunday school ministry in one church outside the university. Her heart breaks for children living on the street. Serving in children’s church and with CAlM for her, is a long-term step towards helping reduce the influx of children on the streets in Uganda. Right now, Leez is mobilizing individuals, organizations as well as resources to support the work of Children Alive Ministries in Uganda.

Sarah Atai

Sarah is CAlM’s programs manager. She too, is a minister in children’s church. She joined the team in 2012 and since then has led the growth of programs at CAlM. These are mainly; the After School Program and the Children’s Church Ministers’ program. Within these programs are; our teenagers’ outreach program (the street leader program); child/youth sponsorship; children’s conferences; and the microloan project among others. She is passionate about seeing that the children we serve are effectively reached.
